Combine two trains into one
Train no. 22627/22628 Tiruchi – Trivandrum Intercity Express shares the rake with train no 16341/16342 Trivandrum-Guruvayur Express. For instance, the train from Tiruchi, on reaching Trivandrum, after a break of two hours proceeds to Guruvayur and follows the same pattern in the return direction also. If common train numbers are assigned, it is possible to book tickets for any stations between Tiruchi and Guruvayur for a continuous journey without any break. For instance, a passenger travelling from Tiruchi to Guruvayur has to book two different tickets under the present system. The railway authorities are requested to take the suggestion for their consideration.

Start mobile unit to give vaccine
In Madurai city, there are dogs in household that have not been vaccinated against rabies. Many people are either unaware of the existence of anti-rabies vaccine or face practical difficulties in taking their dogs to veterinary hospitals. It is suggested that the department concerned should station a roving mobile unit in the neighbourhood to administer anti-rabies vaccines to pet dogs and ensure safety of all.

Carriage space shrinking in city
Carriage space on Madurai roads is shrinking due to rampant encroachments, shoddy patch work, pipeline laying work, haphazard parking of vehicles and dumping of garbage on the roadside. Unauthorised parking causes much inconvenience to pedestrians and road users while roads were dug up for laying pipelines are not restored properly. Kamarajar Salai to Munichalai Junction, Keelavasal, Vilakkuthoon, Netaji Road and Masi streets face these issues. Commercial establishments occupy pavements and the road and hence reduce the carriage space. There is little space for even an ambulance to go swiftly. I request the authorities concerned to take consistent steps to address these problems.

Repair road
The road from BB Kulam junction to Mahatma Gandhi Nagar bus terminus is in worst condition with potholes and trenches. The road was dug up several times for various reasons and the recent one for widening. The work started in full swing but stopped abruptly. Dust emanating from the road has become a health hazard. Since Chithirai festival is fast approaching and this road will be used as an alternative road to divert traffic, high priority must be given to complete the road widening and relaying work. Also the stretch from Arasamaram bus stop through Krishnapuram Colony till Mahatma Gandhi Nagar is badly damaged due to digging of road for pipe laying work. I request the authorities concerned to address all these issues.
