Meghan Markle shares Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s sweet gesture as children ‘in on’ Prince Harry’s ‘tradition’

Meghan Markle has celebrated the Fourth of July with her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, as she shared a sweet “tradition” they were now part of.

The Duchess of Sussex, 43, marked the occasion, which commemorates the United States’s independence from Britain, with a series of social media posts.

Meghan began her latest message with a reflection on her second date with Prince Harry, which fell on July 4, where “H brought me cupcakes to celebrate”.

“Now, all these years later, our two children are in on the tradition,” she added excitedly, sharing a heartwarming image.

The picture showed a plate of seven cupcakes decorated in patriotic red, white and blue icing and toppings.

Three of the treats featured peace signs which appeared to have been piped on by hand.

While neither Archie or Lilibet could be seen in the photo, a pair of small hands were holding up the plate for the photo.

Also featured the carousel was a selfie from appeared to be Harry and Meghan’s second date, showing the pair cheek to cheek and reclining on a sofa.

Following that image was what seemed to be one of the cupcakes the Duke of Sussex had gifted Meghan during their date.

The sweet treat featured “4th of July” written in red icing.

“Happy Independence Day! May your day be as sweet as these cupcakes,” Meghan captioned the carousel of heartwarming pics.

The Duchess’s latest message was part of a series of posts that celebrated Fourth of July.

Earlier, Meghan was filmed assembling a patriotic charcuterie board which featured in two videos, posted to both her main account and that of her As Ever lifestyle brand.

The American themed presentation featured watermelon, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, strawberries and star-shaped cheese arranged to resemble the American flag’s colours.

In the first video, Meghan could be seen hopping from one leg to another as she prepared to begin filming.

“Simply Entertaining, Happy 4th of July,” flashed on the screen in Meghan’s handwriting as the assembling of ingredients began.

The Duchess’s family post followed a series of other messages that marked US independence from Britain.

She was shown using her, once again out of stock, raspberry spread before accidentally dropping a raspberry into it.

Meghan then giggled as she popped the rogue fruit into her mouth.

Captioning the post, the Duchess wrote: “Red, white and blue and easy to do! Happy 4th, friends Be safe, have fun.”

The second video featured a timelapse of the charcuterie flag set to Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy by The Andrews Sisters.
