THE AHMEDABAD City Police on Saturday evening arrested a woman in connection with the death of her son-in-law.
Earlier in the day, Paresh Lalji Tadvi, 27, who was facing several cases of assault and gambling, succumbed at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital while undergoing treatment for head injuries.
Police identified the arrested accused as Dina Jagdish Vegda, who has now been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. Further investigation is on, police said.
Police said that earlier, Vegda’s daughter started staying with her in Ahmedabad after a marital dispute with her husband, Paresh Tadvi.
Paresh had gone to Vegda’s house on Friday late evening and demanded that his wife return with him to their residence in Rajpipla. The altercation allegedly turned violent and Tadvi suffered serious injuries, police said.
DCP (Zone 6) Bhagirath T Gadhvi told mediapersons, “Early on Saturday morning, in the Lambha Gam area, a woman killed her son-in-law with a weapon and a stone as a fallout over a fight between her daughter and son-in-law.”
