TT Jagannathan, chairman emeritus of kitchen appliance maker TTK Prestige Ltd., passed away late Thursday.
Often referred to as ‘The Kitchen Mogul’, Jagannathan has been on the board of TTK Prestige for the past 50 years and was instrumental in turning around the TTK Group and making it debt free, according to a profile on the company website.
He was a gold medalist from IIT Chennai and held a PhD in operations research from Cornell University.
He is the author of the book ‘Disrupt and Conquer-How TTK Prestige became a Billion Dollar Company’ which talks about the company’s journey, many milestones and how it had fought bankruptcy to become a successful agency.
“If you don’t know how to cook, then you are not in the cooking business,” Jagannathan had famously said.
