Thamma Box Office Collection Day 3: The Ayushmann Khurrana-Rashmika Mandanna film, Thamma, was the big Diwali release of 2025, and unlike the previous years when major Hindi films were clashing at the box office, Thamma did not have much competition. But, despite that, the film is finding is difficult to establish its dominance at the domestic box office. Thamma was expected to live up to Stree 2, which made over Rs 51 crore on its opening day, but its opening day collections were less than half of that, and now, its collections are declining sharply. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 12.5 crore on its third day, which is almost a 47 percent drop since its opening day. This takes the film’s India net collection to Rs 55.1 crore.
Thamma’s box office collection of the first three days is concerning as Stree 2 managed to make Rs 135 crore in the same period. Bhediya, starring Varun Dhawan, which is also a part of the same universe, earned Rs 28.55 crore in the first three days, and Munjya, which released last year, also from the same franchise, earned around Rs 19 crore in this period. Producer Dinesh Vijan has already annoounced films for the next five years which are all being made under the MHCU umbrella but it appears that the mediocre collection of Thamma will have the producers going back to the drawing board.
Thamma had around 5500 shows across the country, with the Telugu shows representing a small percentage of that number. The Delhi-NCR region had over 1400 shows, and the Mumbai region had around 900 shows. The occupancy rates for the Hindi shows averaged out at 19.38%, with the morning and afternoon shows achieving rates of 7.52% and 19.35%. The evening and night shows filled seats with the rates of 25.52% and 25.14%, respectively.
With Diwali festivities out of the way and the weekend just around the corner, the next three days will decide the film’s fate. Should Thamma fail to generate earnings commensurate with its talent and budget, it may begin to lose shows as early as next week. Shortly before Thamma’s release, the success of Lokah proved that the audience was keen to watch films of this genre, so it is quite strange that the audience is not willing to give Thamma a chance.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, the cast of the film includes Ayushmann Khurrana, Rashmika Mandanna, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Paresh Rawal and Janardan Kadam.
