Prince Andrew could be set for a boost amid Princess Kate and Prince William’s potential move, royal sources have claimed.
The Duke of York has been locked in crunch talks with his older brother, King Charles, for several years over his home in Windsor Great Park, Royal Lodge.
The home, which comes under the territory of the Crown Estate, was leased to Prince Andrew in 2003 for 75 years.
However, since stepping down as a working royal in 2019, the King is thought to have been keen for the Duke of York to downsize to a smaller and less expensive property.

Prince Andrew celebrates small win after Princess Kate and Prince William’s potential move
It was briefly reported that King Charles hoped Prince Andrew would vacate Royal Lodge to make way for Prince William and Princess Kate to move in with their children, Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 10, and Prince Louis, seven.
However, the Mail on Sunday has claimed that the Prince and Princess of Wales may be eyeing a different residence, Fort Belvedere.
The property has been described as “a magnificent gothic-revival mansion nestled in a hidden corner of Windsor Great Park”, a potential upgrade from Kate and William’s current home, Adelaide Cottage.
A royal source told the publication: “They feel they have outgrown Adelaide Cottage and need somewhere more substantial.”

Royal Lodge is located on the Windsor Estate. The source added: “This is the perfect new home for them. It has a swimming pool and tennis court, and Charlotte loves playing tennis.”
With Kate and William, both 43, unlikely to move into Royal Lodge, the Duke of York is likely celebrating the fact that he can remain at Royal Lodge indefinitely.
With no immediate pressure to leave and a lease document confirming his right to remain, Andrew is thought to be happy to continue living there.
His ex-wife, Sarah Ferguson, has also been living at the Windsor property since 2008.

Prince Andrew is now rarely seen in public except on family occasions
Under the terms of his lease, Prince Andrew is responsible for maintaining both the appearance and interior of Royal Lodge.
Following his departure from royal duties, the King had been providing his brother with an annual allowance of £1million to cover security and living expenses. However, this financial support was later withdrawn.
In November 2024, it was confirmed that the Duke of York had secured the necessary funds to remain at Royal Lodge, where he has lived since 2003.
Sir Michael Stevens, Keeper of the Privy Purse, stated that the Duke’s funding had come from legitimate sources, though he declined to disclose any specific details.
