Recently crossing 50 million views on YouTube, the song has now earned a special fan — Italian screen legend Monica Bellucci, who inspired its title.The moment unfolded at the Cannes Film Festival, where Bellucci was shown the track. Speaking to Anupama Chopra of The Hollywood Reporter India, Pooja Hegde was visibly thrilled to hear the news. “Oh, really? Wow. That’s the biggest compliment ever. I’ve always loved Monica Bellucci… She had a very unique style and a unique voice in how she carried herself. I’m glad she liked it,” Pooja said, crediting Tamil fans for urging Bellucci on Instagram to watch the song.
Director Lokesh Kanagaraj recently revealed that the inclusion of “Monica” was partly for business reasons. “I kept the song to take care of the business ends of the film. But it will not hinder the pace — it will take the narration forward,” he explained. While the song doesn’t require Rajinikanth’s presence in the storyline, Lokesh confirmed the superstar appears in it for commercial appeal.
