To mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, five Ayushman Arogya Mandirs were inaugurated in New Delhi—at Babar Road, Dharam Marg, and Sarojini Nagar—on Wednesday by Union Ministers Jyotiraditya Scindia and H. D. Kumaraswamy, along with Delhi Cabinet Ministers Manjinder Singh Sirsa and Parvesh Sahib Singh.
In addition, health check-up camps under the initiative ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Pariwar’ were held at seven health centres.
Scindia stated, “Under this initiative, health camps have been set up at 75,000 locations across the country. He is the only Prime Minister who, for the first time from the Red Fort, has consistently spoken about women’s empowerment. This includes distributing sanitary pads and providing smokeless gas stoves for women. He believes that the country’s development is incomplete without the power of women.”
Meanwhile, Sirsa added that several projects worth Rs 1.23 lakh crore, allocated by the Central Government to the Delhi Government for development works, will also be launched under the Seva Pakhwada initiative– a series of events organised by the Delhi government to celebrate Modi’s birthday.
“All these efforts will accelerate Delhi’s development, and the people of Delhi will definitely benefit from them,” Sirsa claimed.
According to NDMC Chairperson Keshav Chandra, the health camps offer cancer screening, immunisation, anaemia and sickle cell testing, tuberculosis screening, nutrition and POSHAN (Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nourishment) services, as well as registration for the Ayushman Bharat Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA), and Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) portals.
