Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lok Bahadur Chhetri said preparations are ongoing. However, the exact date and full schedule are not confirmed yet.
Sources from the Prime Minister’s Office said Oli is likely to visit India on September 16. The trip will be short, possibly lasting two days.
Oli is the leader of the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist), also called CPN-UML. He became prime minister for the fourth time in July last year.
Unlike past prime ministers, Oli first visited China after taking office. This broke the tradition of choosing India as the first foreign visit.
His upcoming visit to India is expected to focus on strengthening ties between the two countries.
