In Coolie, Nagarjuna takes on a negative role — a rare choice for the actor. Reflecting on the experience, he said, “His charisma and aura were just really great. He helped me with Tamil dialogues and guided me. It was really nice of him. Though I played the most negative role, I take back something very positive with myself after doing the film.”
The actor admitted that stepping into the shoes of a villain was an exciting change, but not a decision he made lightly. “I made him work for it,” Nagarjuna laughed, recalling how it took seven to nine meetings with Lokesh Kanagaraj before he agreed. “I had to make sure that I was doing the right thing playing a baddie.”
With Rajinikanth’s magnetic screen presence, Lokesh’s high-octane storytelling, and Nagarjuna embracing the dark side, Coolie is set for a powerhouse opening this week.
