With just two days left for the grand release of Rajinikanth’s Coolie on August 14, the makers hosted a special promotional event in Mumbai to launch the film’s Hindi album. Adding to the star power of the evening, Telugu superstar Nagarjuna joined the event and spoke about his experience working with Rajinikanth in the Lokesh Kanagaraj action-thriller.In Coolie, Nagarjuna takes on a negative role — a rare choice for the actor. Reflecting on the experience, he said, “His charisma and aura were just really great. He helped me with Tamil dialogues and guided me. It was really nice of him. Though I played the most negative role, I take back something very positive with myself after doing the film.”
The actor admitted that stepping into the shoes of a villain was an exciting change, but not a decision he made lightly. “I made him work for it,” Nagarjuna laughed, recalling how it took seven to nine meetings with Lokesh Kanagaraj before he agreed. “I had to make sure that I was doing the right thing playing a baddie.”
With Rajinikanth’s magnetic screen presence, Lokesh’s high-octane storytelling, and Nagarjuna embracing the dark side, Coolie is set for a powerhouse opening this week.
