Air India said it has taken steps to mitigate the disruption for affected travelers. Passengers stranded in Mumbai have been provided with hotel accommodations and have been rebooked on alternative flights, utilizing both Air India and other airlines’ services to ensure they reach their destinations, the airline said.Passengers for the cancelled AI144 flight departing from Newark were also notified of the disruption and, according to the airline, “are being assisted with alternative arrangements at the earliest opportunity.”An Air India spokesperson while confirming the incident, stating, “The crew of flight AI191 operating from Mumbai to Newark on 22 October, made a precautionary air-return to Mumbai due to a suspected technical issue.”
