Man dies as car rams into bike in Noida, BBA student detained | Delhi News


A 39-year-old man died and another sustained critical injuries after two cars collided with each other, resulting in one of them hitting a motorcycle and catching fire near the Sector 145 Metro station in Noida.

Police said the accident took place around 9.15 am on the Noida-Greater Noida expressway when a Kia Carens, allegedly being driven rashly, hit a Honda City from the side.

The impact caused the Kia to lose control and ram into a motorcycle ahead.

Station House Officer Vinod Kumar Mishr of Sector 142 police station said, “The Kia spun out of control and hit a motorcycle…. The car then veered off the road and plunged into a roadside drain. Within minutes, it caught fire.”

While the injured motorcycle rider, Gaurav Singh (43), was admitted to Felix Hospital in Noida, pillion rider Vijay Bahadur Singh was declared dead on arrival at the hospital, said police.

A student at a private university in Greater Noida — pursuing BBA — was allegedly driving the Kia, police said. “The driver has been detained by the Sector 142 police station… He and his friend were on their way to college when the incident occurred,” the officer said.

Police said the two men on the motorcycle worked at a private company in Kasna. “The family members of the deceased have filed a police complaint, based on which a case is being registered,” the officer added.
