King Charles’s cousin has announced the engagement of his eldest daughter, Ella Mountbatten.
Lord Ivar Mountbatten, 62, who won the US version of The Traitors, shared the joyful news on Instagram, revealing that Ella, 29, is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, Fergus Wright.
“I couldn’t be happier to announce the engagement of my eldest and most precious daughter Ella @ellamountbatten to her fabulous boyfriend Fergus @wright.fregus,” he wrote.
“Ferg is not one to be rushed, so I am incredibly pleased that he has finally put us all out of our misery!

“I know he will look after my daughter to his dying day – they couldn’t be better suited. Enjoy this special time in your life.”
Ivar, who shares daughters Ella, Alix and Luli with ex-wife Penny Mountbatten, signed off the message with: “Much love to you both. X #happycouple #finally #1down2togo.”
The proud father also posted a photograph of Ella and Fergus smiling together, with the 29-year-old showing off an emerald and diamond-encrusted engagement ring.
Ella works as a brand partnership manager, while Fergus is an insurance executive.

The happy news comes just months after Ivar’s niece, Lady Tatiana Mountbatten, welcomed her second child in April. She revealed she named her son Auberon, with the nickname Albie.
Ivar became the first member of the extended Royal Family to enter into a same-sex marriage in 2018 with his husband James Coyle.
In 1994, Ivar originally married Penny Mountbatten in a wedding that was attended by Prince Edward and Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh.
Prince Edward was later made godfather to his daughter Ella, while Sophie is godmother to Ivar’s daughter Alix.

In return, Ivar was made Lady Louise Windsor’s godfather after her birth in 2003.
In 2016, five years after his divorce, Ivar confirmed he was in a relationship with James Coyle, an airline cabin services director.
Two years later, the couple married in a private ceremony with Penny Mountbatten walking Ivar down the aisle.
Their daughters, Ella, Alix and Luli, are understood to have convinced Penny to “give him away” at the wedding.
