IMD predicts fall in minimum temperature, cold mornings in Lucknow | Lucknow News

The India Meteorological Department on Thursday predicted that the temperature in Uttar Pradesh’s Lucknow is likely to dip by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the next three days, marked by foggy mornings with mild cold.

Weather experts said the rise in the minimum temperature had reached above the normal levels in the state in the past few days due to western disturbances and two cyclonic circulations formed around the state, coupled with the effect of easterly winds coming at the surface level.

However, the effect of these weather systems is likely to end on Thursday with clear clouds, leading to the possibility of a “fall in temperature by 2-4 degrees Celsius during the next three days. There is a possibility of a mild cold starting with fog or mist in the mornings”.

Parts of Uttar Pradesh had witnessed a sudden rise in temperature above the normal levels for the past few days. On Wednesday, while the maximum temperature was at 33.5 degrees, i.e., 0.9 degrees higher than normal temperature, the minimum temperature was at 24 degrees — around 5.5 degrees higher than the normal temperature.

IMD said that while the weather would be mostly dry, the state is likely to witness mild cold weather, especially during morning and late evening hours, with a fall in the minimum temperature.
