‘If you are rich…’: Mercedes and BMW stuck in waterlogged area amid Gurgaon rain; video sparks debate | Trending News

Incessant rain in the Delhi-NCR region on Monday triggered severe waterlogging and traffic congestion in many areas. Several people flooded the internet with videos and photos as traffic snarls left them stranded for hours. One such video, showing luxury cars stuck in a waterlogged area in Gurgaon, has caught the internet’s attention, sparking a debate on poor infrastructure in India.

Shared by an X user, Kanwar Bir Singh, the viral clip shows three luxury cars, including a Volvo S90, a BMW, and a Mercedes, stuck in a waterlogged area outside a housing society. The man recording the video says that the vehicles got stuck while entering the society gate.

“All the luxury cars, displayed here, right in front of our gate, all stuck because of this waterlogging that has happened while entering the society,” he says in the video.

“India is not for the beginners. The irony of it all; the cheaper Indian cars were easily able to wade through this knee deep water at the entrance to the society gates,” the caption read.

The video drew over two lakh views and ignited a debate over luxury car owners in the country. “Actually this show the owners are clever. They know that driving on a flooded road will result in hydrolocked engines = expensive repairs. Those German cars would have cost a fortune if it were hydrolocked,” an X user wrote.

“These European SUVs have their air intake set very low and have near zero water wading ability. Exciting times for workshops,” another user commented. “My cousin was facing issues with steering motor on his BMW with got damaged by water ingress..I can understand alternators/horns lights etc but this,” a third user reacted.

“If you are rich, leave India for your future,” a third user reacted.
