IDF seals 7 kilometres of Hamas tunnels in Gaza’s Beit Hanoun | World News

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) has said that seven kilometres worth of Hamas tunnels in northern Gaza’s Beit Hanoun were sealed with concrete in a recent operation.

Four week-long operation

According to IDF, in the past four weeks, forces from the 99th Division began operating on the outskirts of Gaza City and sealed off the tunnels using over 20,000 cubic meters of concrete.
“The operation was made possible thanks to precise engineering planning, combining advanced technological capabilities and innovative methods used for the first time, which led to the complete sealing of the tunnel,” the IDF said in a statement.

Along with this, another 2.4 kilometres of tunnels in Beit Hanoun were blown up by combat engineers using standard demolition methods.
“The two combined efforts led to a significant blow to the Beit Hanoun Battalion and led to its operational defeat,” the IDF statement said.

According to the IDF, Musa was responsible for the Rafah Brigade’s operational readiness and attacks during the war. He was also a close associate of the brigade’s commander, Mohammad Sabaneh, who was eliminated in May 2025.

The IDF also announced that it struck a Hezbollah military structure and underground infrastructure in the Beaufort Ridge in southern Lebanon.
