In wake of the incessant rains across various parts of Mysuru district, the district administration has extended the holiday for anganwadis to Tuesday. The centres were initially closed on Monday as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of children.
In an official order, Deputy Commissioner G. Lakshmikanth Reddy on Monday stated that the decision to extend the closure was taken owing to continued rains.
Normal life in the district remains affected, with continuous rain lashing the region since Sunday. Several areas were waterlogged.
The inflow into the Kabini dam has also increased, following heavy rains in its catchment areas. On Monday, the dam recorded an inflow of 13,037 cusecs, with the water level reaching 2,263.52 feet, as against the full reservoir level of 2,284 feet.
