Health Department takes cognisance of patient-care rendered by sanitary worker at Madathukulam GH

The Health Department has taken cognisance of a viral video depicting a sanitary worker cleaning up the wounded toe of a patient at the Madathukulam Government Hospital in Tiruppur district.

An inquiry would be conducted and action would be taken, Health Department sources said.

In the video, a female sanitary worker is seen dressing the wound of a patient, and walking away abruptly after being questioned for her act by people who had accompanied the patient.

AIADMK MLA of Madathukulam Assembly constituency C. Mahendran criticised the State government for not responding to his persistent pleas in the Assembly for rectifying manpower inadequacy at the GH.
