Disgraced Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein will be tried for a third time in a sexual assault case. New York Judge Curtis Farber said on Wednesday that he wants the trial to take place before the end of this year.
The 73-year-old Weinstein will face trial in the sexual assault case of Jessica Mann, in which a jury in New York could not reach a verdict in June. Following this, a mistrial was declared.
The same jury found Weinstein guilty in June of sexually assaulting former “Project Runway” production assistant Miriam Haley in 2006 and not guilty of assaulting Polish Kaja Sokola, a former runway model.
Weinstein, who was one of the biggest names in Hollywood, is currently serving a 16-year prison sentence for rape in California, though he has denied any wrongdoing.
Weinstein will also be sentenced for the guilty verdict in Haley’s case on September 30.
