Diwali, widely known as “the festival of lights”, is also celebrated for its message of inclusivity — a sentiment beautifully reflected in a now-viral video featuring a Pakistani man celebrating the festival in London.

Sheikh Zain, a digital creator from Pakistan, posted the video on Instagram, showing glimpses of his Diwali festivities in the UK. The clip opens with Zain lighting diyas, followed by scenes of a group of mostly Asian friends singing together and later bursting fireworks on the streets of London.

He captioned the post, “Happy Diwali from a Pakistani”, while the text overlay reads, “POV: Pakistani celebrating Diwali ft. London.”

The video has since crossed over three lakh views, drawing an outpouring of positive comments. One user wrote, “I’m Pakistani Muslim and I love to watch and celebrate Diwali.” Another said, “This is the cutest thing I have watched on the internet today. I hope there are more like you in the coming generation, respecting and celebrating each other’s differences. Much love from India.”

A third user added, “So beautiful and lovely… this festival is an invite for prosperity, so anyone can celebrate it. Thanks to Pak bros who believe in peace and harmony.”

While a few negative remarks surfaced, many viewers defended Zain’s post. “I’m not understanding the hate comments under this video. It’s a simple Diwali celebration where people from different countries are coming together, staying happy. Take a chill pill. Ab you’ll want him to do pooja or tell the religious story in the caption?” commented one user.

The video stands as a heartwarming reminder that the joy of Diwali transcends borders — bringing people together in light, laughter and harmony.
