GenRise launched in TN to skill 35,000 youth by 2028 – News Today

Tamil Nadu Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin launched GenRise under the state’s Vetri Nichayam program, aiming to skill and empower 35,000 young people by March 2028.

Conceived by the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) in partnership with Generation India Foundation, GenRise combines global expertise with local training methodologies to ensure quality skilling and verified employment outcomes.

The program will focus on roles in services, manufacturing, and technology, including IT support, software development, and cloud applications. It also emphasizes blended training models, capacity building, and transparent monitoring systems to connect youth with sustainable, higher-paying jobs.

Udhayanidhi Stalin said the initiative aims to give youth across Tamil Nadu—rural and urban—the chance to succeed and contribute to the state’s economy, while strengthening communities through meaningful employment opportunities.
