King Charles and Queen Camilla led the Royal Family at a scaled-down Easter Sunday service at Windsor Castle today.

The 76-year-old monarch and his 77-year-old wife were seen beaming and waving at well-wishers who had gathered outside St George’s Chapel.

The annual church service saw fewer royals in attendance compared to previous years, with several key family members notably absent.

Despite the reduced numbers, the King appeared in good spirits as he greeted the crowds alongside the Queen.

Royals who attended – Princess Anne, the Edinburghs and the Yorks

Among those joining the royal gathering were the Princess Royal and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Tim Laurence.

The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh attended with their son James, Earl of Wessex, who was smartly dressed in a navy suit and red tie.

Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice, the York sisters, were also present at the service, joined by their husbands, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Jack Brooksbank.

The Princesses were present supporting their father, Prince Andrew, and their mother, Sarah Ferguson, who arrived at the chapel alongside Princess Anne and Timothy.

Princess Beatrice embodied spring fashion in her bottle green coat dress, complemented by a chunky headband.

Her sister Eugenie looked equally stylish in a cream trench coat, which she paired with a suede clutch, nude pumps and a veiled white hat.

The York sisters were described as having “galloped ahead in the style stakes” at the service. Their elegant outfits added a touch of brightness to the scaled-down royal gathering.

Also present was Lady Sarah Chatto, the King’s maternal cousin, and her husband, Daniel Chatto. Despite fewer royals in attendance, those present maintained the traditional Easter Sunday elegance.

Royals who were absent – the Waleses, the Tindalls and Lady Louise Windsor

Several key royals were absent from the service this year. The Prince and Princess of Wales and their three children missed the gathering, opting to spend Easter at their Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.

The Wales family also missed last year’s service after Kate, now in remission, was diagnosed with cancer.

Zara and Mike Tindall, who usually attend, were not present this year.

Peter Phillips, Lady Louise Windsor, who is studying at St Andrew’s University, and Sarah Chatto’s sons, Samuel and Arthur, were also missing from the royal gathering.

Royal Family surprises

Prince Andrew made his first public appearance at the service since skipping the annual Christmas gathering in Sandringham.

His absence from the Christmas event came amid controversy surrounding his links to an alleged Chinese spy.

The Duke of York was accompanied by his ex-wife, Sarah, Duchess of York.

Their presence was particularly notable given the scaled-down nature of this year’s Easter celebration.

The former couple joined the King and Queen as they made their way towards St George’s Chapel for the traditional service.
