Final phase of ‘Parasakthi’ filming to begin soon – News Today

The much-awaited Tamil film Parasakthi, starring Sivakarthikeyan in the lead and directed by Sudha Kongara, is entering its final stage of production. The film team is expected to begin the concluding leg of the shoot soon, with about 40 days of filming left.

Shooting for the film began in December 2024, and the cast and crew have completed several schedules across locations such as Chidambaram, Karaikudi, Madurai, Pollachi, and even Sri Lanka. The movie features a powerful ensemble including Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, and Sreeleela in key roles. Sources indicate that major action sequences and dramatic scenes have already been canned. The final phase will focus on wrapping up the remaining portions.

Parasakthi is expected to be a politically-charged drama set in the 1960s Madras State, focusing on issues such as student politics and resistance to Hindi imposition. It is jointly produced by 2D Entertainment and The Route, and though a Pongal 2026 release is speculated, no official date has been announced.

The film is being keenly followed due to its socially relevant themes and Sudha Kongara’s reputation for strong storytelling. Fans are also excited to see Sivakarthikeyan in a more intense, content-driven role.
