Princess Diana’s niece, Lady Eliza Spencer, revealed on July 31 via Instagram that she is set to marry her longtime boyfriend, Channing Millerd.
The proposal took place in Santorini, Greece, with a breathtaking view of the water, a candlelit table, and flowers setting the scene.
Despite the engagement announcement, Earl Charles Spencer has not publicly congratulated Lady Eliza, continuing a pattern of limited communication with his children reported in recent years.
Sources close to the family have previously indicated tensions between the Earl and his children, with observers noting his absence from family weddings, including those of his daughters, Lady Kitty and Lady Amelia.

Royal watchers have also noticed a lack of public acknowledgement from Charles on social media, even though he maintains an active Instagram presence.
In her post, Eliza, 33, shared three scenic photos of the special moment. In the first, she could be seen smiling with her hand resting on Millerd’s neck, showing off her new engagement ring.
Another image captured the emotional proposal itself, with Millerd down on one knee and Eliza, dressed in a red dress and flip-flops, kneeling beside him with a hand covering her mouth in delight.
“Forever and Ever,” Lady Eliza captioned the post, alongside a red heart emoji.

Millerd also shared the images on his Instagram Stories, accompanied by an instrumental version of Stand By Me.
Among the first to congratulate the newly engaged couple was Eliza’s twin sister, Lady Amelia.
Commenting moments after the post went live, Amelia wrote: “The best news everrrrrrrr.” In a follow-up comment, she added: “I couldn’t be happier for you both! The BEST NEWS IN THE WORLD. I love you both with all my heart! The perfect couple and dream engagement.”
The Spencer twins and their partners are often seen together at events such as Royal Ascot. Millerd and Greg Mallett, Amelia’s husband, also share a close friendship, having attended school together.

“Channing is one of my best and closest friends,” Mallett previously told Hello! magazine. “We played a lot of the same sports, like rugby and water polo, and naturally shared a lot of the same interests.
“More than that, we share the same values – loyalty, ambition, integrity and a strong sense of family – which has kept our bond strong over the years.”
Eliza’s engagement follows the weddings of her older sister, Lady Kitty Spencer, who married Michael Lewis in 2021, and Amelia, who wed Mallett in 2023.
The siblings also have a brother, Louis Spencer, Viscount Althorp, the eldest son of Charles Spencer, 9th Earl Spencer. He is set to inherit the Althorp estate, the Spencer family seat and childhood home of Princess Diana.

Though Eliza is the last of the sisters to get engaged, she previously hinted at wedding plans already taking shape.
“Marriage is definitely something we’ve talked about,” she told Hello! earlier this year, revealing that they had already been thinking about potential wedding destinations.
“We love the idea of a destination wedding,” she said. “We feel drawn to Italy, especially somewhere by the ocean — that feels so romantic to us. Spain has that same coastal charm we adore.”
Eliza added: “At the same time, Amelia and Greg’s wedding in Cape Town was unforgettable, and South Africa will always be home.”
