Though no immediate clues emerged from CCTV camera footage of the day of the incident, visuals from the previous day showed four men conducting reconnaissance near the complainant’s residence, said police.

Acting on intelligence inputs, police arrested Sachin and Sandeep from Baljit Nagar. Their questioning led police to another accomplice, Kailash in Sagarpur. It was later discovered that one of the woman’s domestic helps had leaked information to the accused, said police, adding that Rs 5,000 was found on her after her arrest, Rs 21,000 was recovered from Sandeep.

“It has come to light that one Rahul had arranged for two men — Akshay Kumar and Vikas Rathi from Bijnor — to commit the robbery at gunpoint. A team arrested Vikas from Bijnor. The toy gun used in the robbery was recovered. Raids were also conducted to apprehend Akshay in Bijnor, but he managed to flee… On Friday morning, he was finally arrested,” said DCP (Central) Nidhin Valsan.
