From politicians, bureaucrats and judges, both retired as well as serving, to artists and academicians, several prominent personalities are eager to meet RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat during his three-day visit to the Capital starting Tuesday, said sources. The programme, to be held at Vigyan Bhawan from August 26-28, is part of the Sangh’s centenary celebrations. It will include lectures as well discussions between the RSS chief and the attendees on different matters. According to insiders, the initiative is linked to the Sangh’s social outreach and will serve as a model for similar meetings with distinguished citizens in other major Indian cities over the coming days.

THE CENTRE has appointed two new judicial members and four expert members to fill vacancies in the National Green Tribunal (NGT), but only two expert members have taken charge so far. The new judicial members — Justice Umesh Chandra Sharma and Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain — continue to serve in their posts in the Armed Forces Tribunal and National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission, respectively. With the new appointees yet to take charge, Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi from the principal bench in Delhi is also hearing Kolkata bench matters as the tenure of judicial member Justice B Amit Sthalekar has ended.
