Corporation employee dies while playing football in Park Town

A 55-year-old employee of the Greater Chennai Corporation fainted and died while playing football in Park Town on Sunday. The Thiru Vi Nagar police have filed a case.

A senior officer of the City police said the man S. Rajan was working as an administrative assistant in the Chennai Corporation. He was a resident of Poompuhar Nagar in Kolathur. He would regularly play football in the Corporation playground located on Pallavan Salai. On Sunday morning Rajan similarly played a game of football when he suddenly fainted on the ground. The other players rushed him to the Periyar Nagar Government hospital where doctors pronounced him brought dead.
