The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) plans to launch a digital platform that will act as a unified digital interface for nearly 10 lakh auditee entities to directly respond to queries, observations and inspection reports, an official said Wednesday.
Deputy CAG KS Subramanian said, “We have created a portal called CAG-Connect, where access would be provided to 10 lakh auditee entities across the country…There are multiple advantages of this. It eases the process for them, as they do not have to send through email or hard copies and it speeds up action from their side.”
Subramanian said: “It is ready for launch very shortly.”
Subramanian said officials prepare inspection reports before taking up an audit. Every year, 20,000-25,000 inspection reports are prepared and shared with the auditee entities, which share their observations and replies through emails or files, he said. With its launch, this process will become easier as they can share their replies there, he said.
