Bengaluru City Police reacted to the video and tagged the local traffic police’s accounts. No further action has been taken.
The viral video has triggered widespread criticism, with users on X demanding that the Bengaluru Traffic Police investigate the incident and take swift disciplinary action. Many pointed out that such behaviour undermines public faith in law enforcement and creates an atmosphere of fear rather than respect.
A user wrote, “The uniform is meant to command respect, not fear. When a minor parking dispute escalates to assault, it signals a systemic failure. The real issue isn’t the parking spot; it’s the abuse of power.”
Another user commented, “Just few days back similar incident happened where traffic police assaulted a citizen. Nobody knows what happened after that. Irony is they simply get away with a warning or a minimal punishment, but if the roles are reversed citizen will be slapped with FIRs.”

A third person wrote, “The job is to deescalate not to escalate. The job is to counsel the ones who are decent, Fine the ones who are ignorant & punish the ones who are arrogant. Arrogants are in power, Ignorants are in service and decents are in servitude.”
“How is this cab driver ‘ innocent’ after a parking violation?” asked a fourth individual.
