An anganwadi worker Papathi and assistant Chellammal of the centre at Suraikkaipatti in Reddiarchatram in Dindigul district were placed under suspension as per the orders of the Dindigul Collector for branding a child with a hot utensil.
It was said that Chellammal branded the child with a hot utensil near the neck for being playful and Papathi had failed to take any action against the assistant. Following a complaint, an inquiry was conducted and both of them were placed under suspension.
