A video of a mid-air physical altercation between passengers on an AirAsia flight from Kuala Lumpur to China has caught attention on social media. According to a report by TMZ, the incident unfolded when an elderly man expressed his frustration with three women seated in front of him.
The man accused them of being loud. The viral video, captured by another passenger, shows the man repeatedly asking the women to lower their voices during the flight, which lasted over four hours. When the women did not lower their volume, the man lashed out and called them “stupid”.
The report further states that he also went on to tell the women passengers to “shut up,” which triggered the fight. One of the women stood up and started hitting the man. He pulled down his tray table and tried to block the punches. Both sides kept throwing punches and yelling during the flight, the reports added.
According to the eyewitnesses, several of the crew members and attendants tried to calm both sides.

The video quickly went viral, sparking widespread discussion on public decency. “The mid-flight altercation showed an appalling lack of decency toward the pilot, the crew, and everyone on board,” a user wrote. “If you sit in first class. You never experience this low vibrational energy,” another user commented.
“Perhaps an overreaction, but I get their frustration. Some people need a muzzle,” a third user reacted. “There is no longer any respect in the air gone are the days when you could fly in peace and tranquility and say you actually enjoyed a flight. It’s always something,” a fourth user said.
In 2021, a Los Angeles woman was detained after she allegedly punched and spat on a man aboard a Delta Air Lines flight following an argument over a mask. According to a report in the Seattle Times, the maskless woman asked the man to put on his mask and spat on his face and head.
