Aamir Khan makes vada pav on Mumbai streets ahead of Sitaare Zameen Par release, receives standing ovation from audience at special screening | Bollywood News


It is a well-known fact that Aamir Khan keeps trying new and unconventional strategies to promote his films. Now, ahead of Sitaare Zameen Par’s release in theatres, the actor stepped out on the streets of Mumbai, to make the famous delicacy vada pav with a local vendor. Several videos and pictures of Aamir making vada pav in Dadar surfaced on social media. A day later, he also surprised the audience at a special screening of his film, and received a standing ovation from them.

In one of the videos, Aamir could be seen preparing vada pavs for a large crowd. He smiled for the camera, as someone from the huge crowd said in the background, “Arre hari mirch nahi hai na? Ek main hari mirchi utha raha hoon (There is no green chili, right? I’m taking one from here).”

Many fans reacted to the video and dropped quirky comments about his promotional strategy. A fan wrote, “Nobody can beat his promotional strategy.” Another comment read, “This is compulsory ahead of a movie release.”

Meanwhile, on June 9, the actor arrived at a special screening of the film and surprised the audience at the theatre towards the end. As per reports, he received a grand standing ovation from the fans. A few clips of the audience reaction have emerged on the internet. An attendee said, “This movie will change perceptions towards Down syndrome and autistic people.” Another member form the audience called it Aamir’s best film since 2007’s Taare Zameen Par.

Directed by RS Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par also features Genelia Deshmukh, and debutants Naman Misra, Rishi Shahani, Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Rishabh Jain, Ashish Pendse, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar, and Aayush Bhansali. Aamir Khan will be playing the role of an assistant coach of a basketball team with specially-abled kids. The film is set to hit the theatres on June 20.
