Teachers told to bridge gap between pedagogy and latest technologies to make students future-ready

There is a need to bridge the gap between pedagogy and latest technologies for the benefit of students and to make them industry-ready, said JNTU Kakinada (JNTU-K) Vice-Chancellor C.S.R.K. Prasad.

Speaking as the chief guest at a training programme for teachers titled ‘Entrepreneurship Development and Venture Creation’ at P.V.P. Siddhartha Institute of Technology in Vijayawada on Monday, Mr. Prasad stressed the importance of quality of academics, and added that JNTU-K encouraged faculty and students to become entrepreneurs. The five-day programme was jointly organised by JNTU-K, Wadhwani Foundation and P.V.P. Siddhartha Institute of Technology.

Bala Krishna, a professor from JNTU-K, said that all faculty members should possess good knowledge in their fields and improve placements and startups opportunities in their respective colleges.

Safiuddin Khaja, an artificial intelligence (AI) engineer in Google, spoke about AI’s role as an emerging technology and added that Generative AI is in great demand now. PVPSIT principal K. Sivaji Babu said that constant learning is important for the faculty members and that they should be ready for the industrial requirements.

More than 129 faculty from various colleges across the State participated in the programme. Dayakar Murthy, director of Wadhwani Foundation, and others were present.
