A civil police officer attached to the Pettah police station has been suspended after being found under the influence of alcohol at the station.
District Police Chief (Thiruvananthapuram City) Thomson Jose suspended D.R. Arjun for alleged indiscipline after finding him sleeping drunk during a surprise inspection.
The incident occurred on Thursday night when the suspended officer purportedly consumed alcohol at a farewell event organised at the station. Subsequent tests revealed that he was intoxicated.
