
Three persons were arrested and over 3 kilograms of ganja was seized by the State Task Force (STF) and enforcement teams under the Telangana Excise and Prohibition Department on Friday.
In the first case, Rajpaka Satish, an electrician from East Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh, and currently residing in Uppal, was caught selling ganja near Adarsh Nagar petrol pump. The police said 1.8 kilogram of ganja was seized from him. Investigation revealed that Satish has two previous cases registered against him and regularly travels to Andhra Pradesh to procure ganja, which he then distributes in Hyderabad. The seized contraband and the accused have been handed over to the Uppal Excise Station.
In the second instance, Mutyala Thirumalesh was arrested while selling ganja in the Hayathnagar, Vanasthalipuram. The officials seized 1.34 kg of ganja from him. In addition, Chintapalli Venkatesh was arrested with 320 grams of ganja near Bongloor village in Ibrahimpatnam.
Further investigation into the cases is under way.
