Strictly Come Dancing star Kai Widdrington has given GB News a glowing verdict as the dancer and choreographer revealed he is an “avid watcher”.
The 29-year-old fan-favourite spoke exclusively to GBNews.com following his appearance on Breakfast earlier this month and explained exactly why he and others tune in each day.
Catching up with Kai, he celebrated GB news as a “very honest” source of news. “As a viewer, I think it’s very, very honest. The news feels candid and nice to watch. So, I like watching GB News,” he explained.
The professional dancer described himself as an “avid watcher” of the channel. “It’s a very honest news programme,” he reemphasised, praising GBN for not “beating around the bush.”

“It’s straight the point. They say how they think,” he continued before cheekily paying tribute to the returning Angela, whom he was partnered with on Strictly in 2023.
“Especially when Angela is on!” Kai added with a grin.
This certainly tickled the broadcasting legend, who joined Stephen to host GB News Breakfast on Sunday, April 6.
Angela was in aggreement with Kai during the discussion as she chipped in to deliver her thoughts on why GBN continues to grow.
“It’s a programme that people enjoy watching,” she glowed.
“It’s a way for a lot of people now to get their news, and they choose GB News over other stations. They obviously like what they see!”
Evidently, Kai and Angela were spot on in their assessment, as The People’s Channel continues to grow across multiple platforms.
In recent months, GB News has repeatedly outperformed Sky News in viewership, according to Barb data. The channel has also come within a hair’s breadth of dethroning BBC News over the same period.
Kai was appearing on GB News with hosts Angela and Stephen to discuss his new dance tour, Evolution, and revealed he hoped the tour would help fans “get to know me”.
“I want to chat to the audience. I want to have moments with them,” he said on Breakfast.
“I want to take them on a bit of an emotional roller coaster and make them laugh, make them cry, have a few serious moments, have a few funny moments, maybe have some audience participation, and ultimately just have a great night,” he explained.
Inevitably, the talk of dancing promoted Stephen to ask about Kai and Angela’s iconic dance partnership – which endures till this day.

Kai and Angela quickly became fan-favourites of Strictly Come Dancing’s 2023 series and have remained close friends – and dance partners – since.
Stephen marvelled at their “real friendship” that had developed, despite being 51 years apart in age.
“We have a great we have great banter. And like I said, there’s 51 years between us, but we feel like we’ve known each other for 51 years,” Kai said.
Part of their continuing relationship stems from Angela’s Let’s Dance campaign, which aims to inspire the UK to “embrace dance as a way to improve their health, connect with others, and have fun.”

Kai explained he was “very, very much supporting” the campaign, based on his own journey to becoming a dancer.
The Strictly star comes from a sporting family, with his father Tommy managing National League football team Aldershot Town, for whom his brother also plays for.
He remembered: “I somehow ended up being a dancer, and I had to tell my Geordie dad when I was 12 years old that I wanted to be a dancer. It’s not like the film. Not like Billy Elliot. He was very, very, very, very supportive.”
To that end, Kai declared he was right behind a push to see more dance schools opened around the UK.
“I’m so keen because not everybody has a dad that could afford lessons. You know, I’m not a kid that every dad had a Premier League dad who paid for lessons. So for kids that can’t afford it, why not just give them the opportunity to learn to dance?
“We live in a world today where we’re on the phones, we’re on TikTok, kids are learning to dance anyway, so why not regulate it and let them learn it in school for free?” Kai said.
