Punjab Kings (PBKS) are all set to host Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Mullanpur, Chandigarh, in Match No 22 of the IPL 2025 on Tuesday, Saturday. Both sides are under pressure to bring their campaigns back on track.

PBKS had a good start to the season, winning two games in a row, but haven’t cracked their home conditions well, losing five straight matches at the new Chandigarh venue. In their previous outing, which was their first home game of the season against the Rajasthan Royals, Punjab was hammered to a 200-plus total. Notably, their powerplay strike rate (7.5) and overall run rate (8.1) are the lowest in the league. The five-time champions haven’t had a season to remember so far and will look to make things right this time around.

Priyansh Arya – The young left-handed opening batter who made his debut this season has had a mixed campaign so far, scoring 55 runs in three innings, including a 47 against Gujarat Titans in his maiden IPL game. He will once again walk in with Prabhsimran Singh to form the opening pair and hope to give a solid start.
Harpreet Brar – The left-arm spinner who has been part of Punjab since 2019, hasn’t been able to make it to the cut so far. However, the side might consider him as he offers batting depth in addition to his left-arm spin.
Praveen Dubey – The 31-year-old leg spinner good be an impactful player in the coming game, considering his ability to contribute with both bat and ball.
Vyshak Vijaykumar – The real game-changer of Punjab Kings in their season opener against GT, Vyshak could once again be used at the fag end of the innings to provide with some extra bowling options. The pacer has played just one game this season so far.

Shivam Dube – The tall left-hander hasn’t had a memorable season so far, scoring just 64 runs in four innings at an average of 16.00. However, the team retained him for a good price and is expecting him to deliver in the coming games.
Shaik Rasheed – Andhra Pradesh-born who hasn’t made his IPL debut so far, can be a valuable addition to the XI. With the experienced batters’ failing to deliver, the management could opt for a different approach.
Kamlesh Nagarkoti – Known for his pace, the youngster has had his share of highs and lows in the tournament. Nagarkoti can be used as a substitute in the second innings if conditions are favourable for bowling.
Nathan Ellis– Playing just the game against MI, in their season opener, Ellis hasn’t gotten many opportunities to prove himself. He could form a deadly combination with Khaleel Ahmed and share the new ball.
