The Faridabad Police on Tuesday arrested a private veterinary doctor in connection with the murder of a man in Sihi village on Friday, police said. The Sector 56 Crime Branch apprehended Kuldeep, a 43-year-old resident of Sihi village, following a complaint lodged at the Sector 8 police post station last week, officers said.
“The complaint was filed by Deshraj, a resident of Dhameda village in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. He reported that his son, Anuj, left home on 16 October on a motorcycle to travel to Aligarh. On 17 October, Deshraj was informed that Anuj had been found dead in Sihi village, Faridabad, with visible injury marks on his body,” a police spokesperson said on Wednesday.
The Crime Branch team, acting on technical assistance and confidential information, arrested Kuldeep, said officers. “Initial investigations revealed that Anuj had rented a room in Kuldeep’s house and visited occasionally. Police stated that Kuldeep suspected Anuj of harbouring ill intentions towards women in his family. In a fit of rage, Kuldeep allegedly attacked Anuj with a wooden stick inside the room, causing severe injuries. Anuj managed to flee but succumbed to his injuries, and his body was later found in Sihi village,” the spokesperson added.
Kuldeep was produced before a local court on Wednesday and remanded to four days of police custody for further questioning, officers said. In a similar incident last month, a 27-year-old man was arrested in Manesar (Gurgaon district) for allegedly strangling his 21-year-old girlfriend with a dupatta, over suspected affairs.
The accused was identified as Vivek, and the deceased as Shalu. “The trigger for the murder was the suspicion that Shalu was cheating in the relationship by talking to other men, leading to an argument between the couple. They often quarrelled over her interactions with other men, resulting in a heated dispute on the night of 14 September. This dispute led Vivek to commit the alleged murder,” officials had said.
