Prince Harry makes ‘significant gesture’ towards ‘deconflict’ with the Royal Family

Prince Harry makes ‘significant gesture’ towards ‘deconflict’ with the Royal Family

Prince Harry has offered to share his diary dates with the Royal Family in a what appears to be part of moves towards rapprochement with his father, King Charles.

The gesture follows a meeting in London between representatives of the feuding father and son for peace talks earlier this month.

Harry’s offer is believed to be a bid to “deconflict” his engagements with that of the Royal Family, should he and the King wish to fix a date to meet face to face.

The offer has also reportedly have been extended to Prince William and Kensington Palace.

As well as clear space for future meetings, Harry’s peace gesture would also avoid embarrassing overlaps between the Sussex camp and the royals at home.

“Before that meeting between their aides in London, conflicts of interest or clashes of publicity were relished and even perhaps encouraged by the Sussexes,” a source characterised.

“Now, Harry has shifted into a new way of thinking. The tone is now all about ‘deconflicting’ with his family,” they explained.

This was seen recently as Harry’s emotional trip to Angola earlier this month dominated news coverage.

The arrangement would see the Royal Family given ‘full sight’ of the Duke’s various engagements ahead of time

His trip almost totally overshadowed the unveiling of Queen Camilla’s 78th birthday portrait.

“That’s why his household agreed to draw up a ‘grid’ of his activities and share them with Buckingham Palace, and by extension with Kensington Palace,” the source told the Daily Mail.

However, the insider cautioned that the Duke of Sussex would closely protect his independence, despite the gesture.

“Harry still doesn’t like being controlled by the Royal machinery, and that won’t change,” they explained.

The move may also allow Harry and King Charles to arrange a face to face meeting

Instead, it would most likely allow the Royal Family to have “full sight” of the Duke’s plans and “plan accordingly”.

“It’s a significant gesture,” the source concluded.

It is unknown if Harry’s apparent peace offering would keep the Royal Family in the loop with off diary engagements, such as his recent secret trip to Botswana.

Representatives of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex declined to comment on the suggestions. GB News has also approached Buckingham Palace for comment.

The latest whispers of rapprochement between Prince Harry and the King followed the revelation that their representatives had met in secret.

Tobyn Andreae, the King’s director of communications, sat down with with Meredith Maines, head of Harry’s household in California, at the crunch talks earlier this month.

Harry and Meghan’s PR chief in the UK, Liam Maguire, was also present at the meeting.

The sit-down, which occurred on July 13, was held a a short distance from the King’s London residence of Clarence House at the Royal Over-Seas League, a private members club.
