Prince William has been given a glorious sendoff from Buckingham Palace as he prepares to leave the UK imminently.
The Prince of Wales will travel to Basel, Switzerland, to cheer on the Lionesses as they face Spain the Woman’s Euros final on Sunday.
“Brilliant performance @Lionesses! One game from glory,” William celebrated on social media after England’s 2-1 triumph over Italy during Tuesday’s semi-final.
Kensington Palace then confirmed that the Prince of Wales, who is patron of the Football Association, will make the trip to St Jakob-Park to spectate the final.

Prince William has musically sent off as he travels to support the Lionesses in Basel
Appropriately, Buckingham Palace delivered their own good luck message to the Lionesses and William.
On Friday, the Band of the Grenadier Guards assembled on the palace grounds to play a rendition of Three Lions, the nation’s unofficial footballing anthem.
The British Army in London’s official account shared footage of the performance on social media.
“Fever is gripping the nation as we prepare for the UEFA Women’s Euro 2025 Cup Final on Sunday,” the post was captioned.

The Band of the Grenadier Guards performed a rendition of Three Lions outside Buckingham Palace
They added: “This morning the Band of the Grenadier Guards were certainly feeling football focused… will it be England or Spain to lift the trophy?”
The track, released by comedians David Baddiel and Frank Skinner with band the Lightning Seeds in 1996, has now become a beloved part of English sporting culture.
While the Grenadier’s rendition was not accompanied by lyrics, the iconic “it’s coming home” chorus was more than recognisable.
Thus far, only Prince William is the only British royal confirmed to be attending Sunday’s match with the presence of Princess Kate and their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis
