Ungaludan Stalin initiative launched – News Today

In a significant move to enhance public service delivery and grievance redressal, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin officially launched the “Ungaludan Stalin” (Stalin With You) initiative on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

The statewide program, designed to bring government services directly to the people’s doorsteps, commenced from Chidambaram in Cuddalore district, where the Chief Minister personally received petitions from citizens.

The “Ungaludan Stalin” initiative aims to address public grievances and streamline the delivery of over 40 essential government services from various departments. These services include critical aspects like patta changes, electricity and ration card name transfers, community and income certificates, property tax revisions, and the inclusion of eligible beneficiaries in welfare schemes such as the “Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai” (women’s homemaker’s stipend).
Key Features of the Initiative:

Extensive Outreach: The program will organize 10,000 special camps across both rural and urban areas of Tamil Nadu, running from July 15 to November. Specifically, 3,768 camps are slated for urban centers, while 6,232 will be held in rural regions.

Accessible Services: Urban areas will offer 43 services from 13 departments, and rural areas will provide 46 services from 15 departments, ensuring a broad spectrum of citizen needs are met.

Efficient Redressal: All applications and petitions received at these camps are committed to be processed and resolved within a strict timeframe of 45 days. A new

“Ungaludan Stalin” website will also go live, allowing users to track camp schedules, petition status, and resolution timelines through a digital tracking system.

Volunteer Mobilization: Over one lakh trained volunteers have been deployed statewide to facilitate the initiative. These volunteers will conduct door-to-door campaigns to raise awareness, inform residents about nearby camp locations, and assist them in gathering necessary documents and filling out application forms.

CM’s Vision: The initiative reflects the Chief Minister’s vision that government services should reach the people, eliminating the need for citizens to travel long distances to access administrative facilities. It builds upon previous successful outreach programs like the “Muthalvarin Mugavari” scheme, which saw 1.05 crore petitions received since 2021, with 1.01 crore already resolved.

Operational Details: Camps will operate from Tuesday to Friday each week, with each district hosting six camps. The first phase will see 109 camps held from July 15 to August 14, with six camps daily across different zones, typically running from 9 AM to 3 PM.

Chief Minister Stalin emphasized the revolutionary nature of the “Ungaludan Stalin” scheme, stating that it will eliminate the need for people to visit government offices, as applications will be delivered to their homes, and grievances will be resolved efficiently. Ministers will simultaneously launch the scheme across various districts, ensuring a synchronized statewide rollout.

This initiative is seen as a proactive measure by the state government to strengthen its connection with the populace and ensure transparent and time-bound delivery of public services.
