The foundation stone has been laid for a ₹20.17 crore redevelopment of Chetpet Eco Park, one of the city’s popular green spaces.
The Bhoomi Pooja ceremony was led by Fisheries Minister Anita Radhakrishnan and HR & CE Minister PK Sekarbabu, who is also Chairman of the CMDA. Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority officials say the project aims to upgrade visitor facilities, add new attractions, and modernize the park’s infrastructure.
The goal is to transform Chetpet Eco Park into a vibrant and eco-friendly urban retreat for residents and tourists. Work is expected to begin soon under the supervision of senior CMDA and state officials.
