In total, 3,513 students were awarded their degrees in various disciplines, including engineering, pharmacy, architecture, science, law, humanities, and management, at the 16th Graduation Ceremony of the GITAM Deemed to be University, organised on its Visakhaptnam campus on Saturday (July 27, 2025).

As many as 2,646 undergraduate, 723 postgraduate and 144 Ph.D. scholars received their degrees, while 48 students were awarded gold medals.

Senior faculty members Prof. P. Bharani Chandra Kumar and P. Shanthi Latha received the Best Researcher Awards for their outstanding work.

Participating in the Graduation Ceremony, Bosch Global Software Technologies’ Centre head and vice-president Naveed Narayan said the youth generation has immense potential to create new business ventures using Artificial Intelligence (AI).

He spoke about how factors such as demographics, geopolitics, digital commerce, and AI are shaping India’s future.

GITAM president and Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat said that new opportunities would emerge, and advised students to shift their mindset from seeking term job security to becoming solution providers and job creators.

GITAM Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof. Y. Gouthama Rao said that the university supported 120 student startups through its Venture Development Centre. “We have seen a good placement success, with around 530 companies visiting the campus and 90% of the students securing jobs,” he said.

Participating in the programme, AU Vice-Chancellor G.P. Rajasekhar said infrastructural facilities would contribute immensely to the development of the students.
