Akash, a resident of Milk Colony, Dhanas, had been missing for four days before his body was found floating in water near Rao Chowk, Patiala, under mysterious circumstances.

According to the complaint lodged by Neha, 28, the deceased’s elder sister, Akash had left home on October 15 and never returned. After searching for him for several days, the family reported him missing at Sarangpur police station on October 18. The next day, his highly decomposed body was recovered and later shifted to Government Multi-Speciality Hospital, Sector 16, for a post-mortem examination, which was conducted on October 21.

Neha told the police that her brother worked as a welder with his cousin Amrit Pal, and was known to consume alcohol occasionally with friends. He was also in a relationship with a woman from Sector 25 and planned to marry her soon. After Akash’s death, family members began suspecting foul play. During discussions, his cousin Amrit Pal allegedly revealed that on the night Akash went missing, he had seen him standing with three to four boys, including one known as Bunty, near a park at Dhanas.

Neha alleged that Bunty and his friends may have intoxicated, assaulted, and killed Akash, before dumping his body in the drain to destroy evidence.
